The Coronation Cup was competed for by 36 players, 12 teams of triples. The competition was played over 3 rounds of 6 ends, each team changing rinks after each round.
The winners were the team that accumulated the most shots over the 3 rounds, if tied then it would be decided on shot difference.
There were 2 teams both with a total of 24 shots.
Geoff Newman, Lynn Harris and Richard Harris
Rob Cann, Chris Elliott and Angie Whitaker
The winners were then decided on shot difference:
Geoff, Lynn and Richard + 18
Rob, Chris and Angie + 16
Goeff, Lynn and Richard were declared the winners. Congratulations.
Congratulations to all who played, and thank you to all that came to support, despite the inclement weather, it made for a very enjoyable afternoon.
The competition was followed by a fish and chip supper that was greatly enjoyed by all. We would like to thank Sue and Chris Dawes who did a great job of organising the fish and chip supper, Steve Cornish for setting up the rinks and Jeremy Pawley for the bunting.
Also thank you to everyone else who helped out on the day.
We would also like to thank the green keepers whose tireless work continues throughout the winter to ensure that we can recommence play in April.
Hoping to see you all at sometime during the winter months at the Wednesday mingles, Awards lunch or A.G.M.
Kind regards,
Edwin Pocock and Yvonne Cornish
