What a good day we had together on Saturday with the 40 people who came for the afternoon. The weather precluded the use of the green for bowling, so we spent the afternoon inside the clubhouse doing quizzes etc, organised and overseen by Barry, and chatting and drinking. Thank you very much for your involvement Barry.
We would like to put on record thanks to Joe & Cathy who arrived early to help set things up, Pam for making an excellent job of organising the raffle and those people who donated items for inclusion in it. The food was enjoyed by all, and we would like to thank Yvonne, Jenny, Liz and Geraldine especially for the provision of the salads and desserts.
Special thanks must go to Joe Cusson who made the auction such a success, by using his entertainment skills to engage with people and draw out their bids, in a relaxed and encouraging manner. Above all, we would like to thank all who bid for the items included for their generosity, raising approximately £450 for Devon Air Ambulance.
Last but not least, we would like to thank Lin for collecting the entry fees, and Steve and Barry for manning the bar.
An enjoyable afternoon was had by all, and a brilliant £850 was raised to help Devon Air Ambulance with the increased cost of their fuel etc.
Finally, a big ‘THANK YOU’ to all of you who attended and helped to raise this sum.
Yvonne & Edwin
